Day of Service

Wood for Seniors:
Service opportunity: Hundreds of seniors in our area depend on Elderhelp to stay warm during the winter. Come help us November 11 after church as we cut, split, haul and stack firewood for those in need. Sign-ups are available at our worship services. If you have a chainsaw to cut wood, or a truck to haul it and are interested in making deliveries, let us know as well. Wood is located in Hayden (See below for instructions on finding the site) and you’ll need your own transportation. We’ll order some pizza so you can refuel while you work.
There is no physical address available for the wood yard. However, it is located across the street from 268 W Helen Ave, Hayden, ID.
House of Charity:
Service opportunity: House of Charity provides much needed resources to the homeless population in Spokane, WA. Many people don’t realize that basic personal care items are some of the most needed donations for organizations that serve homeless people. Below is a list of items that are needed. We are asking people to bring donations with them to the Summit Northwest Ministries service the next two weeks. Then on November 11 after the worship service, we’ll be sorting and bagging them, along with encouraging messages of hope to the people who will be receiving them. If donating, please purchase equal numbers of each item.
House of Charity Items Needed
Please bring an equal number of each item if you can.
- Toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Dental floss
- Bar soap and body wash
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Deodorant
- Water-based lotions
Additionally, essentials such as towels, sleeping bags, coats and blankets are desperately needed and can be donated as well.
