The Boat

We remember Peter because Peter got out of the boat. We don’t remember the “others” in the boat. Everyone had the same opportunity and faced the same risk, so why did only Peter take the chance? What does it mean to take up your cross and follow Jesus? Jesus gave each one of us individual talents and He has called us not to waste them. Not wasting them involves risk taking, like stepping into a wild ocean. Paul tells us to “forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead”. Peter did just that when he stepped out of the boat.
