How to Start Enjoying Prayer
Many of us wrestle with prayer. We reduce it to asking God for things—or worse, we wonder if it even matters. In the rush of daily life, we struggle to find the time or the energy, and when we don’t, guilt creeps in. Prayer starts to feel like a chore, something we should do rather than something we want to do. It slips from being a sacred connection to a burdensome obligation. And in a culture addicted to constant stimulation and instant gratification, the quiet, slow work of prayer can feel foreign—almost boring. No wonder we avoid it. But maybe the problem isn’t prayer itself. Maybe it’s the story we’ve been telling ourselves about what prayer is supposed to be.
