  • Zechariah’s Song

Zechariah is almost always overlooked when it comes to the Christmas Story. Probably most people don’t know who he is, or what his connection to Christmas is all about. But Zechariah is a faithful follower of God. He had been looking and praying and praying and looking for the Messiah to come. He almost despaired, but then in his old age he found out that they were going to have a baby. Not the Messiah, but somebody very special. John the Baptist. At the birth of his baby, Zechariah, prophesied. It wasn’t a prophecy about the future, but it was a prophecy about … well … we can’t give it all away here … you’ll have to join us this week for a message of hope from an ancient father.

  • Simeon’s Song

Simeon, the old devout man who was hanging around the temple when Jesus came in to be dedicated and blessed as a baby, gave a blessing that has been recorded for eternity. It’s a weird blessing. It isn’t the typical song you’d sing for a baby dedication. It definitely doesn’t fit the mold of any Christmas Carols that we have heard recently. It is unique in many ways. There is one unique feature to Simeon’s song that is not found in the previous three songs we have explored this Christmas season. It’s a wonderful addition and … well it’s just going to be painful. Join us to find out what it means.

The Bible is God’s word, but what does that mean? Why was the Bible given to us? Those are some of the questions we’ll be looking at this week in our series, “What Difference Does it Make?”
