Prayer: Practicing the Existence of God
What does it mean to practice the existence of God? We pray, but typically, at least in my experience most “Prayer Meetings” revolve around praying for people in trouble, or praying for those who are sick. Prayer chains become gossip chains … to the point that I rarely use a prayer chain to pass along prayer requests for people who are in need of prayer. It’s weird, isn’t it? But if prayer is about building a relationship with God, then it has to be more than about praying to avoid trouble, or opposition, or health issues. Prayer should be about connecting with God, but what does that mean? How do we connect, how should we connect and what can we expect if we do strengthen our connection with God? Our journey of faith leads us to this point, practicing the existence of God.
